Well….it looks like you found us and now you want to know a little bit about us!

My name is Anita, and that guy in the picture is the love of my life – Craig. To avoid aging ourselves, let’s just say we met a long time ago.

We once lived in the City, where we raised our children and bred English Pointers. When our children flew the coop, we decided we wanted a new life!

We sold our City home and moved to the Country, where we started the Happy Acre Farm! Together, we raise chickens, rabbits, fainting goats, pigs, cows, turkeys, some wild grandchildren…..and lovely, long eared, short legged, Basset Hounds!

About our Program

All of our dogs live in our home with us, not in a kennel. They are loved, spoiled rotten, and are a huge part of our family!

We DNA screen all of our dogs, and they are clear or not affected for the following genetic conditions:

Primary Open Angle Glaucoma, Basset hound type

Thrombopathia, Basset hound type

Chondrodystrophy and IVDD Risk

Lafora Disease

We test through PawPrint Genetics and Embark

Our puppies

Our puppies are raised in the middle of our home, where they are fully exposed to daily life – all the noise, all the chaos, and all of the love. I use both Puppy Culture and Bad Ass Breeder protocols for raising our puppies, taking the best of both programs and using them to empower our puppies to be their very best! Our puppies are handled daily, and always with love.

Because we want to give them their very best start at life, we don’t send our babies home until at least 10 weeks.

Our puppies are offered with Limited AKC Registration for pet homes only.
